Lost, but Found

I can't believe it's already October! Time here at ASU has really flown by. 1 year ago this month I was preparing my application to become a FOCUS missionary and now I am one! So crazy. One of the girls I'm mentoring is going through the application process now and it's bringing back so many memories. I was completely scared to death to apply and I wasn't really sure I even wanted to be a missionary. The whole process seemed scary, uncertain, and uncomfortable....kind-of like having a relationship with Christ sometimes. I realize now that the devil was just playing a dumb trick because being a missionary is awesome, fulfilling, joyful, and everything I've ever wanted in my life. I get to share my love for Jesus Christ with others every single day AND it's my job to do it! Goodness, I am blessed. I actually got to experience one of the women in my Bible studies share her testimony today. She was super nervous, but she did so well! We walked up to a girl, Kelsey, and just asked her if we could share our story. Kelsey was so great and she had actually been raised Catholic, but has fallen away from her faith, so please pray she comes back to it! The girl from my study was so happy after sharing her story and I pray she continues to share her walk with Christ.

Well, I've been busy. That's nothing new. I don't know how to not be busy, which is sometimes  a bad thing. I love being surrounded by people. It's like this strange high. Bible study is an even bigger high, but I figure it's at least a good high. It's better to get high off Bible study than other things! ;) Here's what I've been up to:

We had an ice cream social after Adoration Wednesday night and I thought it would be fun to be able to color on the tables! I felt creative.

Our cute ice cream sign. I forgot to take pictures once the students arrived. oops!

Fr. Muir is so funny! There was a Christian group on campus offering Free Hugs, so we decided to make a Free Confessions sign to see who wanted one. hahaha

Fr. Muir is the coolest. He's a gangster priest.

Amy and I on the light rail. It was so crowded, so we just shared a seat.

Some of the ladies and I at the baseball game.

The Newman Center bought us tickets to the Diamondbacks v Cubs game! FUN

My Crazy girls on the light rail after the game.
On Friday we had a student missionary night, so all of the students who are leading Bible Studies came over and we discussed difficult questions they may face on campus. Fr. Muir and Fr. Clements were there, along with all of the FOCUS missionaries. It was a great time for them to ask questions about our faith and the Catholic teaching on certain topics. Some of them were: the Church and evolution, Marian Devotions, why Catholics have more books in our Bible, free will, and many many more. It was a great discussion and the student missionaries seemed to love it!

My Bible studies continue to grow. I am meeting girls every day who want to join my studies. It's a total blessing from God. I sometimes can't believe this is my life. I get to hang out with college students, talk about God and study scripture, and just have fun. This week we're going over the Prodigal Son! You should totally read it. :) God is so great. He never forces a relationship with us, but He greatly desires it. I'm so happy I've found my relationship with Him. He brings me so much happiness! In Christ through Mary, Anna.
